6-Day / 5-Night Expedition: The Majestic Duruhuäyä Falls
 
Embark on a unique journey to discover Duruhuäyä Falls, located in Bolívar State, on the western edge of the ancient Guiana Shield near Parguaza, deep within indigenous Piaroa territories.
 
Duruhuäyä Falls is an imposing waterfall, soaring approximately 140 meters (460 feet) high. Its powerful waters cascade down a massive, beautiful granite wall, offering a refreshing and immersive experience for all adventurers.
 
This is a breathtaking, predominantly river-based expedition. We will visit three authentic Piaroa communities, connecting deeply with the untouched natural paradises surrounding them. You will also experience the impressive Maraca Rapids (Raudales de Maraca), a stunning geological landscape sculpted by erosion into crystal-clear natural water channels and stone waterslides.
 
Accommodations & Overnight Stays
 
Throughout the entire journey, we will stay within the indigenous communities, sleeping in hammocks equipped with mosquito nets.
 
 
 
*Tents are available upon request. For extra comfort, we highly recommend bringing or requesting a sleeping pad and/or an inflatable mattress.
 
 
The Route & Itinerary
 
 
 
Departure: From Caracas to the Ta Toceh Community / Pozo Blanco.
 
 
River Navigation: Cruising along the Parguaza River to the Salto Maraca Community, featuring a guided visit to its stunning rapids.
 
 
The Trek: Continuing to the Cucurital Community, followed by an estimated 2-hour hike to reach the magnificent Duruhuäyä Falls.
